I'd say in Canada as in the rest of The West, that line is long past.
Canada is in a strange time in its country's history. I agree with what you are saying. Canada is still called democratic yet the power and the authority of constitution is diminished. The rule of law is not upheld in many cases. Executive orders are becoming more common. The authority of businesses and ngos reign supreme over the sovereignty of people. Censorship of information is the way of the land.
I'm in B.C. and my only begotten child is currently employed by a Christian facility which houses mentally and physically disabled adults, under the B.C. Health Authority "umbrella".
After I lost my business during Canada-wide "lockdowns", for a time I was (under) employed by a non-profit, and was paid under that same "umbrella" too, until the mandates kicked in, September 2021.
I walked. Have not looked back. Surviving somehow but that's another story innit? 😉
My son has told me, several times in the past few weeks, that if he's "mandated" to "boost": he'll simply quit and drive cab.
I continue to send him relevant jab data, in the hopes that, if this shit DOES happen again? He'll keep his promise to me.
I attended the march in Ottawa. The people I met were just ordinary folk who don't want their children exposed to this poisonous gender ideology. They don't hate gays, or trans they just don't want their kids influenced or confused by about gender or their sexual identity. Pretty simple. What we got from Trudeau and Singh about it -- that they parents are hateful -- was to be expected. I was, however, very dissapointed to hear our new mayor Mark Suttcliff take the same stand. I guess all these politicans are reading polls that say almost 80 percent of people -- not just parents --Canadians think parents should have some say iin what's going on with their kids in this area.
